Homemade Gluten-Free Gravy

Servings 1 quart

Ingredients

  • 1 quart broth
  • 1/2 cup butter margarine, olive oil, or your favorite dairy-free butter substitute
  • 1/4 cup Mehl's Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour
  • Any drippings you may have from any meat being cooked for the meal
  • Your favorite seasonings

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into mixing bowl. Mix until well blended and no lumps remain. A whisk or blender will help get the flour blended smoothly

  2. Place mixture into sauce pan, and heat on medium high heat until it starts to boil, stirring consistently to prevent any burning on the bottom of the pan.

  3. Once the gravy has thickened very nicely. Grab a clean spoon and taste. Add seasonings or more base to get the taste to where you want.

Recipe Notes

For a thicker gravy add a little more flour, for a thinner gravy add a little less flour.

Microwave Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Cook on high for three minutes. Take out and whisk well.
  • Cook for a minute at a time until it has thickened noticeably, and then taste and season to your liking.
